Flow Labs Launches FlowMCP, Connecting AI Agents to the Flow Platform

Detroit, MI — Flow Labs today launched FlowMCP at ITS America 2026, an interface that lets transportation agencies connect their own AI agents to the data and tools in the Flow platform.
FlowMCP gives a connected AI agent direct access to the full range of data in the Flow platform, including real-time and historical signal performance measures, safety data, and mobility and travel-time data. Through a single connection, agents can monitor networks for emerging problems, investigate the cause of an issue down to an individual phase or movement, retrieve turning movement counts and other operational data, and evaluate the impact of a signal timing change after it is deployed. FlowMCP can also streamline the routine monitoring and reporting that engineering and operations teams perform today.

FlowMCP is built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard for connecting AI agents to external systems, and is the first agent-agnostic MCP interface for traffic management. Customers connect the agent of their choice, and access runs entirely under their own authentication and permissions, with every request logged for audit.
FlowMCP reflects Flow Labs' commitment to building a secure, open platform. Transportation departments are adopting AI to streamline analysis, reporting, and operations, and many are standardizing on tools of their own. FlowMCP makes the platform's data available to that AI directly, so teams can keep working in the systems they have already chosen.
"Agencies want AI agents they control and can hold to their own standards — not a closed assistant chosen for them. FlowMCP connects the agents they already run to the Flow platform securely, so they keep control of both the AI and their data," said Jatish Patel, Chief Executive Officer at Flow Labs. "Our industry spends billions every year on analysis and report writing, while the decisions that actually move people get fewer and further between — the reports keep getting bigger but the actions get rarer. FlowMCP is giving agencies across the country back the time and resources to act. It's time to let engineers get back to engineering and get America moving again."

FlowMCP is available to customers now, with access to signal, safety, and mobility data from the Flow platform at launch. Flow Labs is demonstrating FlowMCP this week at ITS America 2026 in Detroit, and the interface will expand alongside the Flow platform as new datasets and capabilities are added over time.
About Flow Labs
Flow Labs helps transportation agencies understand, improve, and act on how their roads perform — closing the gap between analysis and the decisions that actually move traffic. The company's Flow platform integrates an agency's existing data sources with high-penetration connected-vehicle data to deliver insight and AI-powered optimization across signal operations, safety, and mobility — spanning an agency's entire network, with no new field hardware required. Flow Labs works with state DOTs, metropolitan planning organizations, municipalities, and engineering firms across the United States and Canada. Learn more at www.flowlabs.ai.
Manage every traffic management system and data in one platform, without the need for new hardware.
